TCS NQT is completely free — there are no hidden charges. If any website asks you to pay for NQT registration, it is likely fraudulent.

Registration via College Placement Cell

Many colleges have a dedicated placement cell that coordinates TCS NQT registrations. The process differs slightly:

  • Your college placement officer (TPO) will share a college-specific registration link
  • You still register on the TCS iON portal but with a college-specific code
  • Your college verifies your academic eligibility before forwarding to TCS
  • Test centre may be your college campus if TCS conducts an on-campus drive
  • Results and interview schedules may be shared through your placement cell

Check with your college placement cell first — campus registrations often have earlier exam slots and direct interview scheduling.

After Registration

After successful registration, keep track of these milestones:

  • Save your registration number / application reference ID
  • Check your email regularly for updates from TCS iON
  • Download the admit card when available (usually 1-2 weeks before exam)
  • Verify the exam date, time, and centre on your admit card
  • Prepare the required documents for exam day (admit card + government photo ID)

Common Registration Mistakes

Avoid these frequently made errors during registration:

  • Entering your name differently from your government ID (use exact spelling)
  • Using a college email that may become inaccessible after graduation
  • Uploading photos that are too blurry, too dark, or not meeting size requirements
  • Not saving the confirmation page or registration number
  • Entering wrong marks or CGPA (this is verified during document check)
  • Registering multiple times with different emails (leads to confusion and potential disqualification)
  • Missing the registration deadline (TCS does not extend deadlines)
  • Not checking spam/junk folder for TCS emails

Troubleshooting

If you face issues during registration:

  • Portal not loading: Try a different browser (Chrome/Firefox recommended) or clear cache
  • OTP not received: Wait 2-3 minutes, check spam folder, try resending (max 3 attempts)
  • Document upload failing: Ensure file is within size limits and correct format (JPG/PDF)
  • Application stuck: Do not close the browser — wait for the page to load, or try after a few hours
  • Password reset: Use the "Forgot Password" link on the TCS iON login page
  • For other issues: Contact TCS iON support via the "Help" section on the portal
